Didactics & Case Conferences

Daily noon conference: 12pm-1pm.

Once a month, residents present interesting cases they encountered while on service.

Occasional guest lecturers and grand rounds, which includes resident research and quality improvement (QI) projects.

Tumor Boards & Multidisciplinary Conferences

Senior residents are expected to present for rotation-specific conferences and tumor boards, including general body, thoracic, liver case conference, genitourinary, gynecology, family medicine, general pediatrics, pediatric surgery, and hospice.

Physics Lectures

For the junior residents, dedicated physics lectures are given approximately once per week, recently updated to reflect the new ABR exam format. RSNA physics modules are available for study and review.

Journal Club

Monthly journal club conferences are led by the radiology faculty and articles are presented by the residents. There are also journal club conferences on the pediatric, neuroradiology, angio/interventional, and neurointerventional services. Food is typically provided by the department.

Research & Academic Achievement Compensation

Conference Stipend

Amount: Up to $1,000
Eligibility: R1–R3 residents attending and presenting at a major national or international meeting (e.g., RSNA, SIR, ARRS). One award per resident during R1–R3 years.
Coverage: Financial support for publications (peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed articles), oral presentations, and poster displays.

First-Attempt ABR Core Exam Pass Award

Amount: Up to $1,500
Eligibility: Residents who successfully pass the ABR Core Exam on their first attempt.
Redemption Options:
- Society Meeting Expenses: Applied toward conference travel and attendance (includes approved administrative time off).
- Personal Radiation Protection: Applied toward the purchase of personal lead/radiation protection gear.
