Recruit, teach, and graduate radiology residents as outstanding radiologists with an emphasis on well-being, faculty development, incorporating feedback, promoting teamwork, and service to others.
Residents are exposed to the academic and clinical practice of radiology, with the ultimate goal being the successful completion of boards and subsequent excellence in the practice of radiology, whether in the private or the academic setting.
The Loma Linda Radiology Program offers an ACGME accredited independent IR residency program (sometimes referred to as a fellowship), for graduates of a DR program. This residency may be 1-2 years in length, depending on whether the trainee completed the ESIR pathway during their radiology residency.

Residents gain invaluable experience, confidence, speed, and independence as they progress through the tiered call system. The on-call experience is designed to fully prepare residents for all aspects of radiology, including both the private practice and academic settings. Residents repeatedly say that their on-call experience is one of the most useful learning experiences of residency.
Residents are provided full access to the Loma Linda University medical library as well as paid subscriptions to StatDX, RadPrimer, and e-Anatomy.

A guided research mentorship program begins in the first year of residency. All residents are required to participate in at least one research project and encouraged to publish at least one paper during residency. If a paper/poster is presented at a national conference, meeting expenses may be paid for/partially paid for.
Conferences are an integral part of the radiology residency program and represent a major part of the curriculum. We are currently holding all conferences both in person and virtually.
