About
LOMA LINDA RADIOLOGY
Our program is committed to developing outstanding radiologists, prepared for both academic and private practice settings. We foster a supportive learning environment with a solid background in research and quality improvement. Our residents are trained in a wide variety of pathology and large volume of cases secondary to our hospital being a Comprehensive Stroke Center, Transplant Institute, Children’s Hospital, Cancer Center, Proton Treatment and Research Center, and Level I Trauma Center (the largest and only Level I Trauma Center in the San Bernardino, Riverside, Inyo, and Mono counties).

Research
LOMA LINDA RADIOLOGY
A guided research mentorship program begins in the first year of residency. For research accepted for presentation, the program provides financial support and dedicated time to attend the conference. Residents have presented projects across the country, as well as in Canada, Spain, South Korea, France, and the Netherlands. For every publication for which a resident is first author, they are awarded a monetary bonus.
We are actively developing an Artificial Intelligence lab, and currently have many AI research projects in progress with the goal to leverage the potential of AI in our daily clinical work and education, ultimately to improve the delivery of healthcare. The AI laboratory provides a unique opportunity for residents and medical students to learn and explore a new and exciting field while cultivating valuable skills for the future.

Loma Linda is such a warm and wonderful place -both in terms of the weather and experience! During my time there, I picked up so much knowledge and made lasting and meaningful connections with not only my co-residents, but also my attendings, who all serve as my mentors today. The residency will keep you strong, efficient, and hard-working, leaving you proud that you have the qualities of an excellent radiologist. I look back fondly on my experiences there, notably all the people that made up the residency. I really miss coming into the reading room and greeting everyone’s smiling faces. Actually, I think most of all, I miss the hugs and countless high-fives (which in my mind is now replaced by socially distanced air-fives and lots of waving).
Loma Linda University Radiology residency program is led by a group of caring, talented, and hardworking faculty who strive for excellence in their daily practice. They taught me the breadth and depth of radiology, ensuring that I would be ready to work in any environment. I felt well prepared to enter my fellowship and, after completion of my MSK fellowship, to pursue a career that allows me to read both within my speciality as well as a varied range of general radiology. I am grateful for the education I received, the co-resident camaraderie I developed, and the mentorship of the faculty I benefited from as a result of my time enjoyed in the LLU Radiology residency program.
Loma Linda University Medical Center is an excellent institution for mastering diagnostic as well as vascular and intervention radiology. The diversity and complexity of cases that present to Loma Linda is incredibly unique. I was always interested in Vascular IR, and the faculty at Loma Linda helped me tremendously by not only listening and understanding my passion but also by providing me with a personalized curriculum with heavy emphasis on VIR. They also supported me tremendously to help me match at the Miami Cardiac and Vascular Institute. During fellowship, every day, I reflected and relied on my robust and well-rounded residency training. I highly recommend Loma Linda Radiology to anyone, regardless of your future goals whether it is academic or private practice radiology/interventional radiology.
Loma Linda Radiology was such a great place to train. I developed friendships/mentorships that last to this day. The faculty worked hard to instill knowledge as well as autonomy in the residents. I will always remember neuroradiology “hot seat” noon conferences. The training at Loma Linda created a strong foundation for my career today and I will always be grateful for it.
Global Health
LOMA LINDA RADIOLOGY
Loma Linda University Health has widespread presence in the global health community and invests significantly in global service. Through collaboration with the Global Health Institute, our residents have the opportunity for meaningful service opportunities at approved international partner sites. In the past, our residents have participated in global health rotations to Trinidad, the Philippines, and China.
